Have you ever wanted to have fun drawing, painting, and making things?  Then after you have finished your STEM and art projects, let’s be sure to earn points by competing in recreational sports like your favorite playground games.  Check the Game On Leaderboard for the player and team rankings.  Play your friends.  Make and beat your new friends.  Finally, make sure you earn enough points to be in your organizations club league championship tournament like the annual city championships Ocean Bowl Games.   This is STEAM XR Sports.  A safe fun place to play, learn, and create.   Oh yeah, you could win cash prizes, awards, scholarships, and internships.

Microsoft’s Nonprofit Tech Acceleration Program and the Harlem Globetrotters have joined forces to bring you an electrifying collaboration dedicated to revolutionizing education and bridging the educational gap within Black and Brown communities.

This unique alliance goes beyond basketball and technology; it’s a dynamic coding curriculum and tutorial designed to narrow the education gap. By harnessing the Harlem Globetrotters’ iconic influence and Microsoft’s expertise, we are reshaping education and empowering students to unlock their full potential while addressing critical educational disparities.

3rd grade and up.

It’s not just STEM being offered, applied, and learned but its also STEAM.  To be great coder, you have use your imagination and creatively and thats where the A in STEAM comes from:  ART!

In this exciting lesson, your mission is to become a storyteller, a historian, and a coder all in one! You will dive deep into the exhilarating world of the Harlem Globetrotters.

We can do smaller activations such as 1 to 3 hours, but the preferred format length fits better in an 8 week run, with 2 sessions per week for a total of 16 sessions.

Learn the fundamentals of coding using Microsoft MakeCode and apply your knowledge to create an interactive game.

STEAM Esports is where participants

  1. design and build their games
  2. present their project and vote on which games will be used for the esports gaming tournament
  3. compete against your fellow participants in an e-gaming tournament to see who wins the championship, awards, and prizes.
  • The participants will go through the standard program curricula presented by Microsoft NTA.
    • Learn how to gain access and Create their sprite
    • Learn the game interface and explore the game levels
    • Identify coding challenges and earn points
    • Problem solve and earn points
